November 20: Tara

November 20: Tara

FlatRose: “Tara has golden eyes and fair skin. Her features are closer to sharp than soft and she isn’t afraid to look you in the eye. She doesn’t smile too much but isn’t frowning either. She’s just afraid of being hurt again as she has been hurt before. Her left hand is covered in scars radiating from her wrist so she often keeps it in her pocket.

I imagine her standing with her feet spread shoulder’s width apart, her coat unbuttoned to show a wool sweater and her hands shoved into her pockets. She has black feathery wings that she keeps half open behind her. When folded up they measure from her ears down to her ankles, to give you an idea of their size. She’s dressed in a very long coat that goes down past her knees, a fur shawl and an aviator’s hat. Her super light blonde hair just peeks out from under the hat, curling upward slightly. She’s wearing sheepskin boots that are worn under her boot-cut jeans.

Oh and she’s 18 years old, 5′ 7″, of a slender but slightly muscular build (especially around her shoulders from her flying) and not particularly well endowed.”

I feel like this does not look nearly as nice as it should for the amount of time I put into it. (Always an annoying feeling, when something that doesn’t come out quite right takes twice as long as things that do.)

November 19: Riordyn

November 19: Riordyn

5LittleDuckies: “I would really like to see 19-year-old Riordyn in your style. I’ve fallen head-over-heels in love with him, your style is just beautiful. Please insert gushing remarks and pick-me-pick-me comments here.

He’s naturally fairly dark skinned, but living in the cold mountainous country of Antlonur as a slave since he was two has paled him. He is tall, and a dancer in the court of the Prince and his uncle (until the Prince’s 21st brithday when he can take the throne). In previous years he was fairly close to the prince – Gabriel – but they have recently grown apart. He might or might not be in love with Gabriel, who might or might not reciprocate. He has long, nearly-black hair which is long enough to tie back when he needs it out of the way, and deep brown eyes. Facially, he seems to have pretty much become Ben Barnes with slightly more delicate features. Physically, well, he’s a dancer.

In the last chapter I have written, however, he has become more interesting (hopefully) to draw. He has become very ill, after an ancient artifact decided that he would be the best person to reform the Empire (he’s pretty much directly descended from the murdered Empress Lior). This artifact has attached itself parasitically to his heart, and for all intents and purposes is slowly killing him. If he doesn’t get to the appointed place soon, it will.

So far he has paled even further than normal, become almost skeletally skinny and his eyes have sunken into his face. He has been travelling alone (although Gabriel is coming after him. Stupid, noble Gabriel) and has allowed his appearance to become unkempt – he now has a beard, albeit a bit of a patchy, teenaged one, and his hair is lank and dirty. He has become nearly blind, and his eyes have turned black (much like a Supernatural style demon) under the influence of the Archiskold. He is feverish, and traveling as he is through cold, mountainous country he is constantly shivering and in a state of delerium. Only the Archiskold attached to his heart is keeping him going in the right direction. He has very little to call his own, and clothing is included in that. A few pairs of breeches, a couple of linen shirts with lace-up fronts, a leather jerkin and a woollen hooded cape amount to his only clothing – other than his boots – mainly in natural, earthy colours apart from the cape. His cape was a gift from the prince, and is in the colours of the royal family (deep purple and jewel-bright blue).”

This isn’t really how I imagined him when I first read the description, but close enough for rock and roll?

November 18: Oliver

November 18: Oliver

muppetcrayz: “Oliver is a zombie-cat. He is missing his right ear and most of the skin on his jaw, along with all his teeth but his canines. Oliver has bright green eyes and is missing some hair, but is white with black blotches otherwise. Oliver is very thin.”

Animals aren’t my forte. Spent an hour with my big ol’ animal anatomy book, trying to figure out how cats work. D’you know how freaky cat skulls are? Those eye sockets, man.

November 17: Mae Ducasse

November 17: Mae Ducasse

Qahne: “Instead of doing my MC, I’d love it if you could do my antagonist, edgy, friendly, psychotic schizophrenic escaped-mental-patient-come-psychic-phone-friend, Mae Ducasse.

She’s a tall, imposing African American woman, quite toned. She’s got a shaved head, and large, round, vivid green eyes, almost hypnotic, with an indescribable madness about them. Her lips are full and smeared with black lipstick, and around her neck is an obsidian Ankh symbol, on a long silver chain. She’s barefoot, but wears a long, ruffled scarlet dress (sleeveless), emphasizing her bust and widening at her waist. If you could have her almost locked in dance with an invisible partner, a grin on her face, I’d totally be in love with you ;D.

Specifics; she’s 27 years old, a former inmate at the Minneapolis Insane Asylum, and has vivid hallucinations. Her face is fresh and smooth, but her eyes have a look of age about them. Oh, and her face is rather square, and her skin color isn’t too dark, but not too light, either. Sort of Oprah Winfrey-ish.”

So the bad news is that I’m like a week behind now. The good news is that I’ve totally just conquered That One Massive Deadline I Was Dealing With, and am determined to get back on track, even if it takes me the rest of the month to do it. (The catch-up slog would have started today, had the new WoW patch not cruelly dropped, thus distracting me. Shut up, I’ve hardly played for a month.)

November 16: Kelledy McGee

November 16: Kelledy McGee

pixelcurious:“Kelledy McGee is a 20 year old slacker elf. He doesn’t do magic or have a legendary sword; he’s just an ordinary guy. Mostly he hangs out with his friends, drinking too much and listening to bands. He can fall into gloomy moods a bit too easily, but he has a sweet side and is very kind. Currently he works as a dishwasher and prep cook at a local tavern, but he also volunteers at a soup kitchen, feeding the poor. The affection-starved little kids who come to the soup kitchen love him and tend to hang all over him.

His hair is longish, a bit wavy, and medium brown, about the color of milk chocolate. Eyes a clear light brown. Olive complexion. He’s about 5′9″ and has an average build. Not one of your tall, slender Tolkien elves. He has largish hands and knobby wrists. His ears take a bit of explaining; they’re the long style elf ears, like blood elves in WoW, but more mobile and expressive. For instance, they can twitch nervously or droop when he’s sad.

In my mind, his face looks pretty much like this (link goes to Wikimedia); his eyes have that kind of sad look, and his face is long like that, with nasolabial creases. But he doesn’t wear a hat like that, haha! Or a black robe.

Clothing: the world I’m writing has a lot of anachronistic elements, so it doesn’t have to be period-perfect; I see him in basic workman’s pants and shirts, of approximately 1900-ish style.”

Oh look I’m even more behind. Man, and to think I made it for like the first four months without missing a single day. (Although considering I’m missing days because I have deadlines, with my real work for real money, I guess that’s good? Still. I WILL finish this month with 30 pictures up.)
