Somebody studying in Starbucks? WHAT ARE THE ODDS?
There was some generic Canada day stuff going on down by the waterfront today – barbecue, people with dogs, music, facepainting, and so on. Here are some people on the grass! The problem with drawing people facing in your direction is that eventually they tend to notice you staring at them, but when the greenshirted girl did finally come up and look, she was pretty gracious about the whole thing, so that’s nice. One day, somebody’s gonna get annoyed with me. That day has not yet come!
It’s July. The weather is, on the whole, pretty nice. I spend too much time at my desk. Also, I’ve developed a tendency to leave dailies until the wee hours of the night. (HAVE YOU NOTICED?) These two facts in mind, comes the July theme – every day, I’m going to go out into the world and find somebody or something to draw, journal-style. It’s something I haven’t done regularly since school, and frankly, I kind of miss it. Plus, it’ll give me a chance to document the wonderful world of Kingston, Ontario, an excellent place to spend a summer.
