‘Cause I haven’t done watercolour in a while! (Although man, I wish hot press was cheaper, so I could do this on real watercolour paper instead of in my sketchbook. Don’t get me wrong; Bateman sketchbooks take watercolour better than any other sketchbook I’ve ever come across. But still, it’s not the same.)

This seemed appropriate, since I was going to be playing D&D today, so I wrote this one down and sketched it out while we played. I like her a lot! I don’t see any reason why there couldn’t be a chubby caster. I mean, you’ve got magic. Also, the chainmail bikini top isn’t to make fun of her, but rather to make fun of chainmail bikinis, which I’ve always found sort of useless. (Plus, casters tend to wear robes, at least as far as I know – hey, I’m more a WoW player than a D&D chick – and I wanted to show off her physique, which is kind of the point of this?)

I really, really love painting with CS5. When the demo runs out I’ll have to scrounge up the cash for it. Painting’s just so wonderful. I only spent maybe an hour and a half colouring this up; I’m gonna have to do a proper, full-out, finished digipaint before I lose the demo.

God, I’ve done some really, truly, awful ones over the past couple of weeks. It feels good to be back!

It’s been a really long time since I’ve tried something like this, and the first time ever trying to digipaint in Photoshop CS5. While some of the wet-brush stuff is taking some getting used to, basically, I think I’m in love. It’s a whole load of fun.

The full generator name would be more like “Quick Character – Science Fiction – Specific, Starship Crews”, but that is TOO LONG.

After several days of drawing crap that I hated, I’m BACK IN BUSINESS. Also, I have CAUGHT UP and am NO LONGER A DAY BEHIND (see next post). This is probably related. I’ve been feeling a little disheartened, but this one came out great and so did the other one!
