November 22: Bea

November 22: Bea

Nym: “Bea, short for Beatrix, is the Captain of the Sans Merci, a pirating ship. She is the only female aboard the crew, and though many sailors would not work under a woman, she has earned the trust of her crew time and time again. Bea has long, long, curly blond hair, and blue eyes.

I should say eye, though. She wears a bright red bandanna over her forehead, and one flap covers her left eye. She wears a black-laced bodice and brightly-colored skirts. She could almost pass as a stereotypical “gypsy.” Her left leg is missing, and in it’s place is a wood-and-metal false leg. She walks with no limp despite it.

Bea has a cheerful disposition, but can instantly be serious if the need arises. Her crew adores her, and she trusts them with her life. At approximately 5 foot 9, she is tall but not too tall, buxom and not terribly thin, and has flashing emotions. She is confident, capable, strong, and rarely shows weakness.”

Trying something a bit different here. I ballsed up the feet, but otherwise, I think I like it!

If I’m doing my math right, I’ll finish this month with every day filled if I just do two dailies every day ’til the end of the month. Yeah, I can do that! (NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.)

Wonderful! The skirts are fabulous – I love the colors – and the mostly-hidden false leg works great. *giggles* I’m so happy with how she came out, thank you so much!

[...] I’ll leave you with a link, then. I wrote two novels for NaNoWriMo this year, and had an artist on the site draw one of my characters. Bea is the pirate captain of the Sans Merci (taken from Keats’ “La Belle Dame Sans Merci), and I didn’t realize that the artist, who runs a blog called The Monthly Daily. I’m quite proud of my novel, and exceedingly excited to see how someone else would see my character. Without further ado, then, here’s Bea. [...]
