November 19: Riordyn

5LittleDuckies: “I would really like to see 19-year-old Riordyn in your style. I’ve fallen head-over-heels in love with him, your style is just beautiful. Please insert gushing remarks and pick-me-pick-me comments here.

He’s naturally fairly dark skinned, but living in the cold mountainous country of Antlonur as a slave since he was two has paled him. He is tall, and a dancer in the court of the Prince and his uncle (until the Prince’s 21st brithday when he can take the throne). In previous years he was fairly close to the prince – Gabriel – but they have recently grown apart. He might or might not be in love with Gabriel, who might or might not reciprocate. He has long, nearly-black hair which is long enough to tie back when he needs it out of the way, and deep brown eyes. Facially, he seems to have pretty much become Ben Barnes with slightly more delicate features. Physically, well, he’s a dancer.

In the last chapter I have written, however, he has become more interesting (hopefully) to draw. He has become very ill, after an ancient artifact decided that he would be the best person to reform the Empire (he’s pretty much directly descended from the murdered Empress Lior). This artifact has attached itself parasitically to his heart, and for all intents and purposes is slowly killing him. If he doesn’t get to the appointed place soon, it will.

So far he has paled even further than normal, become almost skeletally skinny and his eyes have sunken into his face. He has been travelling alone (although Gabriel is coming after him. Stupid, noble Gabriel) and has allowed his appearance to become unkempt – he now has a beard, albeit a bit of a patchy, teenaged one, and his hair is lank and dirty. He has become nearly blind, and his eyes have turned black (much like a Supernatural style demon) under the influence of the Archiskold. He is feverish, and traveling as he is through cold, mountainous country he is constantly shivering and in a state of delerium. Only the Archiskold attached to his heart is keeping him going in the right direction. He has very little to call his own, and clothing is included in that. A few pairs of breeches, a couple of linen shirts with lace-up fronts, a leather jerkin and a woollen hooded cape amount to his only clothing – other than his boots – mainly in natural, earthy colours apart from the cape. His cape was a gift from the prince, and is in the colours of the royal family (deep purple and jewel-bright blue).”

This isn’t really how I imagined him when I first read the description, but close enough for rock and roll?
