November 14: Zander McAllister (Zeus)

HourglassThorne: “The protagonist of my story is the former Greek god Zeus. He’s been living within the mortal world since the end of his family’s reign of power by posing as one of them. In this modern age, he is living the life of Zander McAllister, a US Marshal hailing out of a small town in western Colorado.

His present day appearance has changed quite a bit since the old days. Gone is the long flowing white beard and hair. His hair, which appears more silver than white, has been cut to match the short lengths typical on today’s modern older men, and his beard has been reduced to a persistent 5 o’clock shadow. Overall his appearance is that of a man who is in his late 40s, but is still physically fit due to the demands of his job and stands a little over 6 ft tall. He also has blue eyes that seem more like gray than any actual hue.

Because his favorite era is that of the North American Wild West, a lot of his style still resembles aspects of this time of life. Dark blue jeans are a must in his attire, and he’ll often forgo the usual “US MARSHAL” blue windbreaker for his more comfortable and protective brown leather jacket that he’ll wear over his bulletproof vest. The badge of his current office is worn on a circle of brown leather that is then suspended from a chain and hung around his neck. Due to the impracticality of cowboy boots on the job, Zeus wears thick soled doc marten lace up boots instead.

Even though he is not worshiped as a god and has lost many of his powers, Zeus retains a few key abilities. He can generate lightning in his hands, but only once every few weeks at most. He can also communicate with large birds of prey, especially eagles. Other than that and his immortality, he is the same as most any mortal human.”

Went comic-booky with this one, and aside from the slightly awkward feet, I’m quite pleased with it. I’ve been drawing young, pretty people all month, so this was super fun!
